Private Access Road - Hull.
The pictures to the left show a private access road in a small residential village called Elloughton Nr. Hull, East Yorkshire.
The product used is a version of Hexapath known as STABLEdrive which is sold exclusively by Hardscape Resourcing Ltd in the North of England and Cedar Nurseries (www.landscaping.co.uk) in the south.
The product was chosen for several of its properties which came into consideration during the neighbours deliberations, some of which were
- Permeability
- Economical to install
- limited excavation options
- Ease of installation
- Fit for purpose and unobtrusive
Another key factor determining its use was accessibility for wheelchairs and mobility scooters as a relative of one of the residents relies on these for transportation and from past experience finds gravel surfaces and driveways or carparks, difficult if not impossible to navigate. However with Hexapath, the surface is contained and stable, restricting the lateral movement of gravel thus enabling narrow and small wheeled vehicles complete manouverability.
The residents were thrilled with the end result which took just 3 days to complete from removal of the damaged concrete to the laying of the grids and backfilling with gravel, the manual labour for all of the work was provided by themselves and said they would not hesitate to recommend the product to anyone looking towards or considering a similar solution.
